Privacy
This website runs without cookies, without tracking and without analytics. What is still processed when you visit, and what rights you have, is set out here.
This English text is a courtesy translation. The German version is the legally binding one.
Controller
The controller for the processing of personal data on this website, in the sense of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is:
- Name
- Viktoria Andres
- Based in
- Berlin, Germany
- contact@dev-vie.com
No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no legal requirement for one.
At a glance
When you visit this website:
- No cookies are set.
- There is no audience measurement, no tracking and no advertising.
- Fonts, images and videos are served from my own server. Nothing is embedded from third-party platforms.
- There is no contact form, no newsletter and no comment section.
- The website is hosted by Vercel. The usual connection data arise there, as described in the next section.
So I process personal data only when you write to me yourself, and to the technical extent needed to deliver the website.
Hosting and connection data
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, and delivered through their global network. So that your browser can receive the page, Vercel processes the connection data needed for that on every request and keeps it briefly in logs:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested and the page that linked to it,
- browser, operating system and the amount of data transferred.
This data serves only to deliver the website, keep it secure and spot faults. I do not combine it with other data or evaluate it by person. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in a secure and stable website.
Vercel processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement in line with Article 28 GDPR. As Vercel is based in the United States, data may be transferred there. The transfer rests on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which Vercel takes part in, and in addition on the Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details are in Vercel's privacy policy.
Settings on your device
This website sets no cookies. Two settings are kept in your browser's local storage, and only when you change them yourself: the chosen appearance (light or dark) and whether sound is on or off.
These values stay on your device, are never sent to me or to anyone else, and contain no personal data. You can delete them at any time in your browser's settings. Storing them is necessary for a function you have explicitly asked for (section 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG).
Fonts, images and video
Fonts, images, illustrations and videos are served from this website's own server. No fonts from Google, no videos from third-party platforms and no map or social media plugins are embedded, so visiting the site opens no connection to such providers.
Contact by email
When you write to me, I process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message in order to answer you. Where it concerns a commission or the steps leading to one, the legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR. In all other cases it is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
My mailbox is run by Apple (iCloud Mail). Messages are stored there and may be processed on servers outside the European Union. Apple is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
I delete enquiries once they are dealt with and no statutory retention periods stand in the way. Business correspondence has to be kept for up to ten years under German commercial and tax law.
Links to other websites
This website links to my profiles on GitHub and LinkedIn. These are plain links, not embedded plugins. Data is only sent to the provider once you follow a link, and their privacy terms apply from there.
Your rights
Where I process personal data about you, the GDPR gives you the following rights:
- access to the data held (Article 15),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16),
- erasure (Article 17),
- restriction of processing (Article 18),
- data portability (Article 20),
- withdrawal of any consent given, with effect for the future (Article 7 (3)).
Simply write to contact@dev-vie.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77). The authority responsible for me is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, www.datenschutz-berlin.de.
Right to object
Where I process data on the basis of Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to that processing at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). I will then no longer process the data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Encryption
The connection to this website is encrypted end to end with TLS. You can tell by the lock in your browser's address bar. Data you send cannot be read by third parties on the way.
Changes
I revise this statement when the website or the law changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
